This tutorial will show you how to create an add-on domain (pointer) in cPanel. You would create an add-on domain to point another domain to a subfolder or sub domain of your main domain. The add-on can have its own email, but does not have its own control panel. Enter the new domain that you would like to point. Now enter the subdirectory to which you would like the add-on domain to point. Create a password for the add-on domain. It should be 6-8 characters and should not contain the domain name. You have successfully created an add-on domain. cPanel automatically sets up FTP access. You will upload your files to yoursite.com/add-on, as cPanel automatically creates a subfolder in your root (public_html) directory for the new add-on domain. Let's double-check that FTP has been properly set up. Great! A new FTP account has been created for the add-on domain. You can always return here to delete the add-on domain or to change the FTP password.
